Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: April 19, 2026

Our Commitment

VitalWhys is committed to making vitalwhys.com accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.

We treat accessibility as an ongoing practice, not a one-time audit. If you encounter a barrier, please tell us — we take reports seriously and respond promptly.

Standard Targeted

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across all pages, which covers the four principles of accessibility: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR).

Accessibility Features

Keyboard navigation

All interactive elements — links, buttons, forms, menus — are reachable and operable via keyboard alone. A visible skip-to-content link appears when you press Tab from the top of any page.

Screen reader support

We use semantic HTML landmarks (header, main, footer, nav) and ARIA labels on icon-only controls so screen readers can convey page structure and purpose accurately.

Focus indicators

A visible gold ring appears on every focused element so keyboard users always know where they are on the page.

Color contrast

Text colors are chosen to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios: 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI components. We do not rely on color alone to convey information.

Image alt text

All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes so screen readers skip them.

Form labels

Every form input has an associated label — either visible or visually hidden — so assistive technology can identify its purpose.

Responsive design

The site adapts to any screen size and supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

Reduced motion

Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query. Users who have requested reduced motion in their OS settings will see static alternatives.

Known Limitations

  • Some third-party embeds (social media widgets, ad scripts) may not meet full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance — these are outside our direct control.
  • Older PDF documents linked from the site may not be fully accessible. Contact us to request an accessible format.

Technical Approach

  • Framework: Next.js 15 App Router with semantic HTML5
  • Styling: Tailwind CSS with high-contrast design tokens
  • Testing: We use keyboard navigation testing and reference axe-core accessibility rules during development
  • Browser support: Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  • Assistive technology: Tested with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows)

Report an Issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site — a page that's hard to navigate, an image without a description, a form you can't complete — please let us know. We aim to respond within 3 business days.

Email: hello@vitalwhys.com

Subject line: Accessibility issue — [brief description]

Include the URL of the page, the assistive technology you're using, and a description of the problem. This helps us reproduce and fix it faster.

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the relevant enforcement body in your jurisdiction. In the United States, complaints related to web accessibility can be filed with the U.S. Department of Justice ADA Information Line.
